life is GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!

i felt it appropriate to update for several reasons:
1. people (ok, person) have been telling me to for awhile
2. before now the only update would have been "i'm insanely busy studying and working on presentations and papers"
3. it's SUMMER TOMORROW and i'll be DONE WITH THIS SEMESTER!!!

between teaching 2 labs, taking 4 classes, and getting all of that accomplished between celebrating birthdays and other holidays with friends and family, this semester has been horrendous.  BUT, except for the take home oral exam for luminescence tomorrow, i'm FINISHED!!

well, it's been over a year since i knew i'd be moving to c-ville and studying at UVA and i must honestly say that it's biggest and best decision i've ever made.  even though it sure is hard to be away every from everyone i've grown up with or been friends with since, i think i'm a better person for coming here.  besides all of the chemistry-related knowledge and experience i've gained, i've learned so much more about myself, my relationship with God, my relationship with others, and the importance of friends and family in my life.  it's ironic how you don't realize how important people are until you're several hundred miles from them and only get to see them once every few months...

all that being said, i'm pumped for this summer... for TIM & FAITH again (), for visits from friends and family to VA, for trips to PA to see fun college friends, for the chance to really get to know friends from UVA, and for the chance to work for a world leader in proteomics + mass spectrometry.  it's gonna be a great summer i can feel it already!

so i'm not quite sure why i'm updating this thing.. i guess because there are 2 people in the world that read it.  FOR YOU TWO PEOPLE:  things at UVA keep getting better.  we've got the J.O.C.S. intramural vball team started up (if you don't know what JOCS stands for, keep in mind that we're all chem majors so our name obviously had to be related...)  we're all chem guys except for aaron's wife who played vball for UCONN for 4 years... my team is definitely happy I recruited her and as of now we're 1-0!  score! classes are tough, as evidenced by my decreasing exam grades as compared to those at Messiah.  averages for our exams are usually in the 60s..ouch. i'm enjoying myself regardless.  well, if you want to know anything else, give me a call or something.. if you need to get an update about my life through a stupid xanga site, we're probably not that good of friends anyway haha.  take it easy!

extra bonus thought: i'm NOT ready for winter to come yet.. but thanksgiving and christmas breaks will be welcomed with open arms!

To those of you who don't check or read this:

I'm finally moved into my apt in VA and I've been having a good time since I've been here.  It's so strange moving to a different state where you know one person (at least I've got Danielle!) but I'd say I'm adjusting well and enjoying myself.  Classes don't seem like they'll be unbearable, just hard which is what I've expected all along.  Life is good but I do miss everyone from home..  take it easy.

- What Hurts the Most

Spring break in Disney World was SO MUCH FUN.. i miss everything about it. (weather, nightlife haha!, NO hw, friends, TANS)

I visited UVA this past weekend.. I really like it but still want to keep my options JUST IN CASE someone else decides to accept me so I can visit their school too.  I'd say odds are really high (~90%) that I'll be there this time next year.. how exciting!!

take it easy, i'm so tired... bedtime.
